Marko Janković, the President of the Securities Commission, as a speaker, took part in the largest regional tech conference "Splet Tech 2023" held on October 10, 2023, at the MTS Arena in Belgrade. The conference focused on "Introducing Special Funds for Investment in Legislation in Serbia." During the event, he presented the Commission's plans to improve regulations, enabling easier and more efficient establishment and operation of UCITS and AIF investment funds in the Republic of Serbia. Conference participants were also briefed on the planned changes in the legal framework aimed at providing more favorable conditions for investments in innovative startup companies, contributing to further growth in the IT sector.
Through the introduction of these funds, investors will be able to invest in startup companies and support technological development and innovation in Serbia. Specialized funds for investing in startups are particularly significant for the development of the IT sector and the digital economy, emphasized the President of the Commission.
The participation of Commission representatives as speakers at this prestigious conference, which gathered over 120 speakers and more than 2500 attendees, further confirms the Commission's dedication to enhancing knowledge and understanding in the field of capital markets in Serbia.
The conference brought together leading IT experts, startup founders, innovators, investors, students, professors, representatives from faculties and institutes, lawyers, corporations, and other domestic and international organizations. In the coming period, continued collaboration with experts, both domestic and international, is expected to further enhance the market and strengthen the investment framework in Serbia.
