RS SEC has joined IOSCO’s global FinTech Network

Rapid development of financial technologies has been a challenge for regulators worldwide. With the goal to tackle this issue, the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) has formed its global FinTech Network – a multidisciplinary body with members coming from more than 50 jurisdictions, and Serbian Securities Commission (SEC) is set to take an active role in it.

The FinTech Network is led by a ten-member Steering Group and has been divided into four work streams, as follows:

1) Distributed Ledger Technology
2) Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Ethics
3) Regulatory Technology, Supervision Technology, and
4) Lessons learned from innovation, focused on IOSCO members’ best practices.

Membership in the FinTech Network will allow SEC to influence the development of global FinTech regulatory framework, as well as to introduce the best global practices into to Serbian law. Namely, financial technologies are a true cross-border issue, hence therefore international cooperation and implementation of tested solutions should be deemed essential.

SEC will be represented by Ms. Bojana Tomić-Brkušanin and Mr. Dušan Romčević, and they are to take part in the Distributed Ledger Technology work stream. If your company or you personally have an interest in the activity of the FinTech Network / FinTech itself, please feel free to contact them at bojana.tomic@sec.gov.rs and dusan.romcevic@sec.gov.rs.
