The Chairman of the Securities Commission, Marko Janković, together with representatives of the Quality Assurance Department, participated in the Fourth Regional Forum on Audit Quality Assurance – Progressing Reforms in Audit Oversight, held on 9–10 December 2025 in Tirana, Albania. The forum was organized by the World Bank – Center for Financial Reporting Reform (CFRR) within the framework of the regional REPARIS for SMEs and EAASURE programs.
The forum brought together representatives of public audit oversight bodies, ministries of finance, and professional accounting organizations from 11 participating countries. The main topic of this year’s gathering was advancing reforms in public audit oversight and ensuring the quality of audit services through the exchange of experiences and examples of best practices at regional and European levels.
On the second day of the forum, the Commission’s representatives participated in the session “Updates from Participating Countries on Experiences in Implementing Audit Oversight and Plans for their Next Actions”, during which they presented Serbia’s experiences in implementing the public audit oversight system, the results of conducted reforms, and planned activities for the upcoming period. This session focused on sharing practices and challenges of various oversight bodies and exchanging views with representatives of the European Union and the World Bank on possibilities for further improving audit oversight and audit service quality.
The Commission’s participation in this forum contributes to strengthening regional cooperation and harmonizing regulatory practices in line with international auditing standards and European requirements in the field of public audit oversight..
