The Securities Commission marked 35 years of existence and operation

On Thursday, 2 October 2025, the Securities Commission of the Republic of Serbia ceremonially marked 35 years of its existence and operation. The celebration, titled “A Legacy Shaping the Future”, was held at the White Palace and brought together numerous guests — representatives of state institutions, the financial sector, capital market participants, international organizations, as well as members of the academic community and the business sector.

Speakers at the event included Marko Janković, President of the Securities Commission, Ognjen Popović, Assistant Minister of Finance, Lazo Ostojić, CEO of the Belgrade Stock Exchange, and Ljubica Pantelić, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Deposit Insurance Agency.

The speakers emphasized the importance of continuous institutional development and the Commission’s role in strengthening transparency and trust in the Serbian capital market.

The ceremony provided an opportunity to reflect on the Commission’s development and achievements over the past decades, as well as its key role in ensuring the stability and integrity of the capital market.

As part of the event, a monograph marking the Commission’s 35th anniversary was presented. Through a chronological overview, it highlights the most significant milestones in the institution’s history and its progress in regulatory and supervisory practice.

The celebration was organized with the support of capital market representatives — the Belgrade Stock Exchange and the Central Securities Depository and Clearing House — as well as other institutions that, together with the Commission, contribute to the development and stability of the capital market in Serbia.
